Dirty Conditions of the Beleghata-Chingrighata Canal

I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the extremely unhygienic condition of the canal that flows between beleghata and chingrighata in Kolkata. The canal has turned into a dumping ground for garbage and industrial waste.The water is dirty the smell is unbearable and often feels unhygienic just passing by. During rain which is very prominent here the problem becomes worse with waterlogging and an increase in mosquitos. As student and residents of the area we are directly affected by these conditions. It is really dissapointing that such a big part of the city is left neglected. A regular cleaning drive proper waste disposal and some awareness among locals could change things. I sincerely hope that the authority understands the situation and urge them to take strict measures to clean and maintain the canal ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for the citizens
